Our daughter Zaza Evangeline
Born January 14, 2018 and lived 11 days. We held her in our hands as she took her last breath on earth and entered Heaven.
The Projects
As parents, instead of being depressed and dreading her birthday and home-going every year, we pray and choose a special project and invite friends, family, and ministry partners to join us in completing. Each project is unique and we have seen God do the miraculous through them!
Focused on The Mission
As Christians, above all else and even through the tough things in life, we choose to stay focused on The Mission to share the message of Eternal Salvation through Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. The ultimate goal for each project is to facilitate this happening.
THIS YEAR'S PROJECT - 2025
BUILD a CHURCH for a primitive tribe!
(the Chief asked for their first church building...) Total Goal: Only $6500
The Tribe
Classified as an unreached people group, the Tolupan tribe live in the Montana de la Flor region of Honduras. They are a VERY primitive tribe isolated in the autonomous zone of this mountain range. They have their own language and don't trust outsiders.
However, our ministry partners have made significant inroads in befriending them and sharing the Gospel. Over a thousand Tolupan have accepted Christ and now their Chief is asking for their own church building.
Our Story
This is truly the hand of God at work. We had first been presented with the opportunity to work with the Tolupan in another way. But Joshua said to Diane, "I wonder if they have a church. But even if we were to build a church, is there anyone who is, or wants to be, their Pastor?"
Without saying anything to anyone, Joshua continued to pray and wait. After a few days, he got a text, "a church build project in Honduras among the Tolupan tribe... the Chief's son wants to be the Pastor." God had heard our conversation!
Goal
We will build a brand new church building for the Rincon community of the Tolupan tribe. It will be a good one, too!
Make History With Us: This will be their very first church, ever!
Bonus: the church building will also be used as a schoolhouse for the children as they currently do not have a school.
Note: the Chiefs son has already been getting Bible training in preparation!
Impact
This is a very unique opportunity. We must act fast! Imagine... God using you and me to be the answer to the prayers of a tribal Chief of a remote village to build and plant a church! Not only that, his son wants to be the Pastor. Talk about long-lasting impact for generations to come. I don't know if it gets much better than this!
Partnership with Feed The Hungry USA
We are partnering with Feed The Hungry USA once again. In years past we have fed children around the world and built a playground in Nicaragua with them. They are fantastic and a highly valued ministry partner. FTH already has a feeding program established in this very poor region.
Are We Visiting The Location?
As you can imagine, it's not the easiest place in the world to get to. However, Joshua is planning to personally visit the church build project later this year and do ministry in Honduras as well.
To the Ends of The Earth...
Let's make history and generational impact within the primitive Tolupan tribe of Honduras by building the Rincon community their very first church!
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” - Romans 10:14-15

"The Backstory"
HOW THE DOORS OPENED FOR US TO BUILD THIS CHURCH
The Bible says one person sows and another reaps. Apostle Paul said, "The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service..."
Getting to this point where the Chief is asking for their very own church did not happen over night. Many people have 'sown, planted, and watered' over many years. And it's clear that God is in this. God is working on their hearts. Now you and I get the opportunity to play a huge role in this story. What an honor. What a privilege! I believe if you are reading this right now, God has chosen you to be a part.
When our partner missionary Hector first discovered the Rincon village the people would hide behind trees. Their houses were made of sticks, clay, and leaves. No electricity. No running water. Over time, Hector was able to establish a Feed The Hungry feeding program as many had been surviving on only one tortilla a day. Trust and friendships were built and the Gospel began to be shared. God cares for what most people consider to be the 'least of these.' And the Tolupan people had been left out, looked down upon, and living in extreme poverty.
Although much progress has been made, there is still much more to be done. We must keep going step-by-step. And the next step is getting this church built and planted. The opportunity for you to be a part is NOW. Once the church is built, the opportunity will be gone forever.

From the beginning, when our daughter Zaza died 7 years ago, we made a decision that we would use the experience as an opportunity to bless others. We didn't know exactly what that would look like. Today, we look back at the pictures from all the projects and can clearly see God is a Good God. As we have tried to bless others, it seems as though we are the one's who are most blessed by these projects.
